Remote desktop for Mac is old, and can't always connect. It can't connect to Windows 8.1 for instance. I keep getting the "Remote desktop connection cannot verify the identity of the computer that you want to connect to", even though I tell it to connect anyway.
If like me your first reaction to "it doesn't work" was to try the "Check for Upgrades" menu item then you'll want to know that _that_ doesn't work either.
Instead, go straight to the App store and install it from there. The spiffy new version is a great new app and works just fine.

I BEG FOR HELP, I HAVE DONE INSTALLATION OF WINDOWS 8.1 ON MACBOOK OS X MOUNTAIN LION, BUT THE OS X, IS NOT FOUND WHEN I SWITCH ON THE PC AGAIN AND WHEN THE WINDOWS 7 0R 8.1 IS ON, THERE IS NO SOUND.
If you installed Windows 8 on your Mac using BootCamp then you want to find the BootCamp control panel to boot back into OS X — for instance http://www.dummies.com/how-to/content/switch-between-windows-and-os-x-with-macs-boot-cam.html
If you installed Windows 8 on your Mac WITHOUT using BootCamp then you might have deleted the Mac partition and OS X and everything on it.
The last thing you can try is, rebooting the machine and holding down the Option ⌥ key. See https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201255
